• Background:

  Dianthe's history before the past three years is a mystery. She was found by the forest guardian Auriel, near death and without any clue about her past. She was a dryad, which are normally bound to trees, but had no tree herself. Believing this to be the cause of her injury, Auriel bound her to his forest and helped her to heal. She never remembered anything, but she doesn't see that as too much of a problem. Instead, she enjoys re-learing everything about the world around her, even though she can't leave the boundaries of the forest. There's plenty to learn within that territory anyway.
  Dianthe's "job" is to alert the forest's guardians to any untoward activitiy, and to wake the next one up whenever the other goes to sleep; they rotate their stewardship based on the seasons. Aside from that, she has full run of the woods, and is often the front-facing person whenever someone needs to call on its protectors.
